Our campground guidelines and policies are listed below. If you have any questions, contact the campground office.


KOA Reservation/Cancellation Guidelines Guarantee your Campsite.

A registration fee for your first night will be charged to your credit card when you make your reservation. You can make online reservations 24/7 through You’ll receive a confirmation from the campground.

Need to Cancel?

Please call (256) 280-4390 before these deadlines to receive your deposit refund, minus a $10 cancellation fee:


  • RV/Tent Sites: 48 hours - Notify KOA by 4PM two days prior to your scheduled arrival.
  • Camping Cabins and KOA Specialty Lodgings: 7 days - Notify KOA one week prior to your scheduled arrival.

Holiday and Special Event Cancellation

  • RV/Tent Sites: 7 days - Notify KOA by 4PM seven days prior to your scheduled arrival.
  • Camping Cabins and KOA Specialty Lodgings: 14 days - Notify KOA 2 weeks prior to your scheduled arrival.

Reservations made after these deadlines require nonrefundable deposits. Cancellations made after deadlines will result in forfeiture of all deposits.

Special conditions may apply during high-demand times for some cabins, lodges and other KOA Specialty Lodgings. Please check with the office for additional information.


Check In is at 3 PM each day. Check Out is 12 PM (noon).
If you desire additional time, we may be able to accommodate (fees apply) depending on availability.

Upon checkout, please lock the door, and bring the key to the office. A fee of $25 for un-returned keys applies.

Quiet Time is 11PM — 8AM.

All daily visitors/guests are required to leave by 10PM.

All campers should return to their site by 11PM.

Activities and volume settings must be contained within your site at all times. All guests deserve the right to peace and quiet within their campsites. Our quiet hours are strictly enforced.

All buildings at Wheeler Lake Campground are NON-SMOKING. All lodging is NON-SMOKING. Deep cleaning and fumigation charges ($250) will apply for all smoking in non-smoking areas.


Please protect our children by driving slowly and watching for kids on bikes.

No bicycle riding after dark.

Motorized vehicles must be insured and operated by licensed drivers only.

Valid license and insurance may be requested for inspection at any time for the safety of all guests.

May registered guests have visitors?

Facilities in this park are for use by registered guests only. Visitors are required to register and pay day use fees at the office before entering the park, along with signing an agreement to abide by and be subject to park guidelines upon admittance. All visitors must leave the park by 10PM, unless registered as an overnight guest. Please register overnight guests by 8 PM in the office. Passes are required to be visibly displayed on dash at all times for security purposes.

Pets are welcome on leashes at all times.

Please pick up after your pet in order to keep the campground clean for all of our guests.

When outside, pets must be accompanied by their master or on leash at your rv or tent site.

Pets are not allowed to disturb others with barking or meowing.

No aggressive dogs are allowed in the campground.

Wheeler Lake KOA does NOT have lifeguards. Please swim at your own risk. Please use the buddy system at all times. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Any playgrounds, rental bikes, rental kayaks, etc. are provided at your own risk. We strive hard to follow strict safety guidelines but due to the outdoor rugged nature of camping, we ask that you inspect all equipment and activities for safety. Please report any concerns to the office.

Please do not play on or near equipment after dark for your and others' safety. All playgrounds close at sunset.

We allow only one recreational vehicle (RV) and one vehicle per site. A small "pup" tent is allowed for immediate family currently living in the registered guest's home. A maximum limit of people per site applies.

All outside firewood is prohibited due to potential spread of disease. Certified firewood can be purchased at the Campground Store. Any outside wood must be abandoned prior to entry (inquire at store for assistance). Violation will result in a $150 fine by local authorities or Campground Security.

Please place all garbage in sealed garbage bags by your site # post for staff to pick up. Please don't place garbage out over night because of the possibility of animals getting into it.

The safety and security of all guests and visitors is everyone's responsibility by following campground guidelines and rules at all times. Any violations that require intervention and/or enforcement by local police will result in eviction without refund(s) and/or civil penalties by law enforcement.
